Preserving Place is Atlanta’s newest home for cooking classes, specialty cooking supplies and house-produced preserved food.
Founded by canning expert Martha McMillin, Preserving Place draws inspiration from South Carolina Piedmont heritage and the refined architecture of Charleston. With fond memories of growing up on a farm, McMillin is excited to share her knowledge of preserving foods and canning that was passed down from generation to generation. McMillin learned methods of preserving foods from her mother and grandmother and loves to share her knowledge of canning.
“My mission is to source produce from local farmers and preserve Southern heritage through recipes, foods and traditions,” said McMillin. “I want Preserving Place to be an inviting spot where people can gather and learn about preserving techniques, while realizing the importance of local produce.”
